Michael Kors Collection Fall 2021 RTW 40th Anniversary

Hey Guys! It's been a while since I have written about a fashion show, and this year I was lucky enough to be invited to the Michael Kors show through work, it was virtual but hopefully when things open I'll be able to be invited to real events!

I thought I would collate the menswear outfits from the show and see what my favourite was! So the show was set in a Broadway for Michael Kors 40th Anniversary, with the likes of Naomi Campbell & Bella Hadid strutting down 45th Street on our screens due to the pandemic. The opening sequence was rather comical, with Billy Porter cracking jokes about him knowing how to pose - linking to his 'Pose' TV series. I loved watching the show, it isn't a brand I personally relate to massively but I definitely will be taking outfit inspiration from outfit number 1 when it gets to AW21!

Outfit number 1 is giving me River Island vibes, with Zara neck bag accents! I love the beige check suit, with the leopard print turtle neck. This is SUCH a vibe. Dual prints are definitely something I have seen a lot of throughout the whole of 2021, if I am honest I am way to scared to dual print, it is definitely hit and miss. Maybe towards the end of the year I'll feel a little more confident with it because it does look so nice in outfit 1! I have also seen a lot of co-ords with matching trousers and overcoats instead of trousers and blazers. This is super cool, but usually will be a lot more expensive.

Outfit 2. The coat, I CAN'T! I need this coat by the time winter comes around. I have always heard black and brown shouldn't go together but I am gonna have to try this A/W as I love this. The trousers are stacked at the bottom, leading me to think baggy trousers aren't going anywhere anytime soon. This makes me wonder when or even if skinny trousers will come back. One thing is for sure, I cannot fit into my old skinny trousers / jeans anytime soon lol. The material of this outfit seems to be wool, I NEED to make sure I incorporate wool into my outfit this season.

Well well well, Outfit 3 = fur dreamsss! Roll necks are a given, so I won't be spending too much time talking about this. This fur coat is gorgeous though, the brown tones flow through the menswear pieces, and the grey from the suit flows through to the all grey outfits too. I have a similar fur coat to this from the H&M x Giambattista Valli collaboration a few years back, I definitely need to dust it off this season as Michael Kors has shown that the leopard print trend is back and fur is also!

Outfit 4 ties smart and casual so nicely, trousers + a roll neck is definitely workwear attire styled with the smart shoes. The puffer coat is so cool though, I love the shade of grey and the zippers on the arms is a really trendy touch. I can't say I have seen this before!

Ready to head back to the office? Outfit 5 is giving working in the office realness. The smart overcoat with the rollneck and smart trousers all in grey definitely screams smart attire. The thing that speaks most to me in this outfit trend-wise is the neck bag, these have been trending since SS20 perhaps earlier and they are still coming through strong. These are definitely a Zara staple if you are looking to get on this trend for a lower price point than Michael Kors. Something else I noticed is the overcoat seems to be a hybrid of a puffer and a woollen overcoat, which is a nice touch.
