So, want to know what I get up to when I'm not studying and not able to go out and see my pals? I pretty much just watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, and now, Disney Plus. I feel like I am a really good judge of a TV Series, which is a fab trait to have. When I recommend a programme to my friends, they almost always watch it all the way through. So, here's my top 10 Binge-worthy programmes to watch while we're all bored in quarantine.
1. American Horror Story
If you know me, you'll know I have been obsessed with American Horror Story since it came out nearly 10 years ago. When it first came out I would watch it with my mum, and then when I got a TV in my room from Season 2, I started watching it on my own. AHS is a series which doesn't automatically follow on in each season, each season is generally set in different times, places and has different characters. Some series however, do overlap which is really cool as it makes connections in the AHS universe. This is first seen in season 4. My favourite season, although not as scary as others is American Horror Story: Coven. If you watch it, you'll see why. You can find all seasons of AHS on Netflix apart from AHS: 1984, I'm sure you can find this online somewhere though. AHS Season 10 has been postponed because of the Coronavirus; in case anyone didn't know :(.
2. Siren
Siren is a niche Sci-Fi series which follows a small town, obsessed with mermaids. I know what you're all thinking, 'ergh we don't wanna watch no H2O'. Well it isn't childish in any sense, some parts actually do make you jump, and the mermaids in the series are much more predatory than the fun teenagers we see in H2O. There is 2 seasons currently and they are usually shown on Freeform, I know most of us won't have as I'm based in the UK and don't like to pay for series' anymore where I have the normal streaming systems. Season 3 is meant to be coming out in the next few weeks and I am soo excited. It is definitely one of my favourite series' out of the ones I am listing. 3. Orphan Black
If you haven't seen or heard of Orphan Black, I don't know where you have been hiding. This is a Sci-Fi series based on Illegal Clones. It is not in any sense boring and the actress who plays all of the clones does not get enough credit, she does an amazing job. There are 5 series' of OB which concluded a few years ago, much to my upset as I would have loved to follow on what the characters are up to. They are all available on Netflix!
4. Handmaid's Tale
Handmaid's Tale is a Dystopian series in a corrupt world where all fertile women are forced to be surrogates for the rich. It follows a women who'd a family of her own who was ripped from them and is forced to follow new laws created to repopulate the world. It is quite scary and similar to the world we live in now as it follows the story on, and is one of most well put together series' I have seen if I am honest. The series used to be on Channel 4, but isn't available at the moment. It is available on Now TV and Prime to purchase but I will share the link to where I have watched it online before too.
5. Carnival Row
Cara Delevinge and Orlando Bloom star in a world of mystical creatures, mainly the diversion between humans and fae (fairies). This is a Prime Original and is also an amazing series which I must admit I finished in 2 days. There is meant to be a new series coming soon but there hasn't been much heard regarding this. All I have to say is watch it, I don't want to give too much away. It is free if you are an Amazon Prime member.
6. Titans
You may have heard of Titans from when you was younger or in references in Gotham, or any of the DC films or series'. Titans is a series about team titans, based on the DC comics. I never read the DC comics, or heard about them before the series if I'm honest, but it is a really good series and focusses more on Robin and other DC Characters rather than Batman and the Characters I feel like we see too much of, in films, video games and popular culture. This series gives other characters a chance to enter popular culture and be heard from fans. There are 2 seasons available on Netflix. I think this series is so much better than Gotham also, which I found I struggled to get on with.
7. Scream Queens
I love Scream Queens. I remember watching it through Autumn when it first came out I think just after Season 3 of American Horror Story. Ryan Murphy created this as well as AHS, and it is a much more fun and laughable series compared to AHS. It stars Emma Roberts playing her classic bitchy and spoiled character, in a college sorority focussed around a serial killer. There are so many famous actors and actresses in this series and it is just so funny. If you need a series to lighten up your mood being stuck in quarantine, this series is definitely it. There is 2 seasons and they are both available on Amazon Prime. There has been speculation after a few years break that their may be a third season of Scream Queens, this may be a little while off now due to the pandemic, but I really hope the rumours are true!
8. Humans
Humans is a futuristic series based on Robots and how the future technology looked. The series feels very close to home, especially where it is filmed in the UK with UK actors it feels very realistic. It follows some robots who actually have emotions and the future of life with Robots. I found it really insightful and it isn't boring either. Each series is different and it gets more interesting towards the end. This series finished with three series' all available on Channel 4 Online.
9. Lilo & Stitch: The Series
So, from writing this post, I realised I really do love a good Sci-Fi Series, so I thought I would throw the sone in to change it up. If you know me, you'll know I'm obsessed with Disney, so it is only the natural thing for me to spend £50 of my hard earned cash on a years subscription of Disney Plus. I remember when I was younger I used to watch Lilo & Stitch the series and absolutely loved it, so at the moment I'm a little bit obsessed with reliving my childhood and watching the series puts me in such a fab mood. I'm not sure if you're aware there also is a Little Mermaid series on Disney Plus, so if Lilo & Stitch isn't your thing, there is always that. If Lilo & Stitch is your thing, there is also four films if you finish the series, but you need to watch Lilo & Stitch, Lilo & Stitch 2, and Lilo & Stitch the Movie before the series, then the series, then Leroy and Stitch. Just saying :)
10. Criminal Minds
Some of you may not be aware but before I wanted to go into fashion I wanted to be part of the Criminal Minds team (In real life tho, obvs). I studied Forensic Science in 6th form alongside some other A-Levels and I found it super interesting but I knew my heart lied with fashion. That doesn't stop me loving Criminal Minds though following the American Profilers and the crimes they manage to solve. All series are now on Amazon Prime too for you to binge.
